Invitation to DISC & SCC Seed Funding Teaming Session

Dear Colleagues,   We are excited to announce that the Data Institute of Societal Challenges (DISC) and Stephenson Cancer Center (SCC) are co-hosting a seed funding teaming session to connect OU researchers across disciplines in support of data-science enabled cancer research. This event will take place on   Friday, October 29th, from 12-1pm.   To facilitate research in this area, DISC and SCC will be providing   seed funding of up to $100k   to 1-2 research teams based on the review of submitted one-page project descriptions.  Additional details on how to craft a one-pager will be discussed during this meeting.     Tentative Timeline: Nov 15th – Submit One-Pagers for Feedback Nov 22nd – Feedback will be sent back to teams December 6th – One-Pagers Due To register, please   click here .   After registering, you will receive the Zoom link for the meeting.     Please reach out with any questions. NIEHS Fall 2021 Updates

  Please find attached an updated flyer highlighting current funding opportunities available at NIH & NIEHS.   We also wanted to let you know that   NIH is hosting a Virtual Seminar   which will be held   November 1-4, 2021 .   You can register for this free event at:   https://nihvirtualseminar2021.vfairs.com/   This seminar is a great opportunity for those new to the NIH process to learn about the NIH grant process, and for attendees to meet with experts from grants, program, and review from across NIH. Funding Opportunity: EPA Releases STAR Solicitation for Cumulative Health Impacts at the Intersection of Climate Change, Environmental Justice, and Vulnerable Populations   Lewis-Burke Associates LLC – September 21, 2021   The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Office of Research and Development has issued a request for applications (RFA) for community-based research intended to inform solutions to address environmental health-related disparities as part of its Science to Achieve Results (STAR) grants program. DOE Call for Funding: Biological and Environmental Research (BER) Program

Today, the Department of Energy (DOE) released the first fiscal year (FY) 2022 funding call for its Biological and Environmental Research (BER) program. The $14 million funding opportunity announcement is an annual funding call focused on   atmospheric system research .  Applications are open to universities, industry, federal agencies, and nonprofit research institutions, although in the past research universities are primarily funded.    Pre-applications are required and are due on November 3.       Research will mainly focus on interactions between clouds, aerosols, and precipitation processes and interactions.  Specifically, the funding call is looking for proposals that address: aerosol-cloud interactions   that affect the Earth’s energy balance and water cycle; aerosol processes affecting cloud lifecycle, properties, and/or processes ;   convective cloud processes , including the occurrence, frequency, lifecycle, precipitation, and...
