Invitation to DISC & SCC Seed Funding Teaming Session

Dear Colleagues,

 

We are excited to announce that the Data Institute of Societal Challenges (DISC) and Stephenson Cancer Center (SCC) are co-hosting a seed funding teaming session to connect OU researchers across disciplines in support of data-science enabled cancer research. This event will take place on Friday, October 29th, from 12-1pm.

 

To facilitate research in this area, DISC and SCC will be providing seed funding of up to $100k to 1-2 research teams based on the review of submitted one-page project descriptions.  Additional details on how to craft a one-pager will be discussed during this meeting. 

 

Tentative Timeline:

  • Nov 15th – Submit One-Pagers for Feedback
  • Nov 22nd – Feedback will be sent back to teams
  • December 6th – One-Pagers Due

COVID-19   Vaccine   Submission Process As recently announced, the University of Oklahoma must comply with the   federal executive order   mandating COVID-19 vaccinations for federal employees, federal contractors, and other identified individuals. The deadline for employees to be fully vaccinated is Jan. 4, 2022. You may find details about this federal   requirement   here . NIEHS Fall 2021 Updates

  Please find attached an updated flyer highlighting current funding opportunities available at NIH & NIEHS.   We also wanted to let you know that   NIH is hosting a Virtual Seminar   which will be held   November 1-4, 2021 .   You can register for this free event at:   https://nihvirtualseminar2021.vfairs.com/   This seminar is a great opportunity for those new to the NIH process to learn about the NIH grant process, and for attendees to meet with experts from grants, program, and review from across NIH.
